Chapter 6-Lies

It was a week after the hunt. Maple was to scared to go back into the forest now. When I told her that I really wanted to, Flame pointed to his shoulder. He was injured for a month now. I wasn't sure why it won't heal yet.He said the wound was extremely deep but not serios. I didn't know how that was possible. When kids asked what happened, it came up as I was hunting and some idiot shot the wrong thing. Instead of shooting the deer they were both hunting, the dude shot him in the arm. I knew he hated the lies, non of us were a huge fan though.
I walked home from school that day. Maple hadn't been over after that. She was affraid that the hunters would come to my house and end up being murderors. She was so convinced thats why they shot him, because they knew he was half human. I told her she was an idoit if she believed that. I knew she wouldn't lisson untill his wound was healed though. I was trying to keep myself pacient with her. So, I always went after school into the woods.
Today might be diffrent though. I came home and apparently something was wrong. I walked in the door to find my mother pacing. My brother was staring at his dinner as if he thought it was poisened.As I shut the door, both of them glared at me. I stared at them for a while. Then, I took a deep breathe.
"Hi, everything all right?"I asked. I knew I should call Flame, but then I wouldn't go into the forest.
"Not really. Your brother said he heard a gun shot while you were in the woods yesterday. I really looked and looked. Then I found the most peculare thing," she paused and shook her head,"I didn't understand it. It was lion fur." She held up a tuff of fur. That made me stop dead. My heart skipped a few beats. I felt my whole body changing.
"Exuse me,"I said racing to my room. The shift was done when I locked the door. I slowed my heart rate and changed back. I quickly went for my cell phone. I called Flame, I needed him.
"Flame? Its Clover,"I spoke, my voice in a whisper.
"Clover! Is everything all right? I just had the weirdest thought that you were going into the woods? Is it true? Did you go? Are you there now? Why do you sound nerves? Are they hunting you? ARE YOU ALLRIGHT???"His questions came out in quick short sentences.
I sighed. I would answer every question then ask a few of my own. "I'm fine. I thought of going in the woods. No, I'm not in and I didn't go in. I'm FINE. They aren't hunting me. I sound nervess because my mom found...Lion fur." I paused. He gulped. I couldn't think of anything else."HOW COULD YOU BE SO RECLESS??? THIS COULD GET YOU KILLED!!!" I shouted in my whisper voice.
"I'm SOOOO sorry! I should have been more carefull. I will be there in a few moments.I...uh, was coming to see why I was worring. Oh, well, maybe it's a good thing." He hung up the phone.
I sighed. I got undressed then got on some sweats and threw my hair back in a ponytail. My life was going to be coming out in lies.
